In this article, you’ll find out how to track the results of LinkedIn actions in your campaign/sequence and analyze LinkedIn automation performance to improve it.
After launching a campaign with automated LinkedIn actions, you can review metrics to track the volume and success rate of your LinkedIn automation in specific campaigns. This data allows you to analyze the results of your LinkedIn campaigns or the LinkedIn actions in your sequence.
Where to find LinkedIn campaign metrics
LinkedIn metrics can be found on the campaign’s Statistics dashboard. You can access it by clicking on a campaign from the campaign list.
In multichannel campaigns, email statistics are displayed by default. Switch to the LinkedIn tab to view LinkedIn metrics.
How to review Linked metrics
The General Statistics section displays the overall volume and important KPIs: prospects contacted, and the number and percentage who replied, unsubscribed, or were not reached.
The dashboard below shows the metrics for actions included in your sequence. If a metric is greyed out, it indicates that the corresponding action was not added to your sequence.
You can also choose a specific date range for your statistics.
To view statistics for a specific time period—this week, this month, all time, or a custom period—select the desired option on the right side and the results for the selected time will appear.
Here’s the meaning of each metric and how to analyze them:
Connection requests:
The total number of connection requests sent to prospects within this campaign.
This metric represents the total number of profiles you have invited to connect on LinkedIn. Some connection requests may fail or be skipped due to the following reasons:
- The prospect’s LinkedIn profile doesn’t exist, or the URL is incorrect.
- You previously sent a connection request to this prospect, which was either rejected or left pending.
- The prospect is already one of your connections.
The requests that couldn’t be sent are included in the Not reached metric (General statistics).
Successful connections:
The number and percentage of recipients who accepted your connection requests.
The acceptance rate is a crucial metric for LinkedIn campaigns. Monitor it weekly, as it directly impacts your campaign’s success and your account’s reputation. Accepted requests determine how many prospects you can message.
If your acceptance rate falls below 20%-30%, it may indicate that you are targeting the wrong leads or your offer is irrelevant for them. If many of your requests are rejected or left pending, LinkedIn may consider it spamming and temporarily restrict your account –>
To increase successful connections, include a personalized message with a request.
A generic message is less likely to grab prospect’s attention. Use Spintax and Dynamic content variables to make your messages unique and targeted.
Post Likes:
The total number of posts liked on LinkedIn using the “Like” action in this campaign. This count may be lower than the total number of recipients if some LinkedIn profiles do not have any posts.
While this metric doesn’t directly affect campaign success, it indicates how many prospects’ content you have interacted with. In some cases, this interaction may spark a conversation or connection.
Profile Follows:
The total number of prospects’ profiles followed using the “Follow” action in this campaign.
To enhance the impact of following prospects’ profiles and encourage them to follow you back, ensure your own profile is well-optimized and engaging.
Profile Views:
The total number of profiles visited using the “View profile” action in this campaign.
To improve the possible impact of profile views and get prospects to view your profile in return, make sure it is is well-optimized and engaging.
Sent Messages:
The total number of messages sent to prospects on LinkedIn using the “Message” action in this campaign.
This metric includes the initial messages as well as follow-ups.
Message Replies:
The number and percentage of recipients who replied to your LinkedIn message at least once in this campaign.
To improve this metric, send relevant messages that address the recipient’s needs or interests. Follow-up those who don’t respond with additional value propositions or questions. If you don’t receive a response on LinkedIn, try following-up via email.
If you wish to track the activity of specific LinkedIn accounts, you can do this on the LinkedIn accounts page.
